Leadership Boerne is a community Leadership program aimed at increasing the leadership pool for the present and future of the Boerne area.
Mission Statement
The Leadership Boerne Alumni Association Council manages and coordinates Leadership Boerne, the Chamber's flagship program that focuses on expanding the leadership pool benefitting the present and future of the Boerne area.
The Leadership Boerne Program requires a two-year commitment designed to provide information about the community and build leadership skills, allowing participants to make significant contributions to the community. During the first year, participants are exposed to critical issues facing Boerne, surrounding communities and the state. During the second year, they are the facilitators of the sessions for the next year's class of students. The program consists of one-day sessions September through May and culminates with graduation.
Strategies/Initiatives
The Leadership Boerne Alumni Association Council is comprised of Leadership Boerne graduates who volunteer to help guide and mentor subsequent classes to insure they maintain the high standards that are at the core of Leadership Boerne and that they continue to evolve incorporating new and relevant information as it becomes available.
Council members also participate in the selection of the new classes.
"Since attending the Leadership Boerne program, I have grown as a business leader and an individual. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn valuable skills that will enrich all aspects of their life. It has helped me find the voice that I always knew I had but was too afraid to use it." - Tabitha Cuevas, Marketing Director at Morningside Ministries at Menger Springs, Leadership Boerne Class of 2016
Leadership Boerne is a fun and demanding series of classes spanning the nine-month traditional school year. Acceptance into this popular nine-month leadership development program is limited, and all selected participants must be prepared to attend all nine full-day sessions.
Participants in Leadership Boerne will benefit from new learning opportunities in an atmosphere that stimulates class participation and teamwork. Opportunities are provided to allow significant exposure to issues facing Boerne, surrounding communities, and the state -- now and in the future. The program encourages participants to become part of an effective and creative leadership network.
The program consists of a one-day session each month, September through May, and culminates with graduation. Sessions are normally held all day, the second Wednesday of each month, and include lunch underwritten by a contributing sponsor(s). Topics are diverse, and generally relate to issues faced by our communities.
The Leadership Boerne program is sponsored by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. Developed in 1998, the program strives to equip new and experienced leaders alike with tools that will increase awareness of issues facing our great community.
