DECEMBER, 2020 COVID-19 EMERGENCY RELIEF PACKAGE

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is committed to keeping our business community informed and updated.

We are excited to share that on December 27th, President Trump signed a $900 billion COVID-19 relief package into law.

Many small businesses, non-profits, and independent contractors may be eligible for the new round of PPP loans. Borrowers may also qualify for a loan even if they received funds in the PPP's first round. There will be $284.5 billion in forgivable PPP loan funds available for certain borrowers that already got PPP loans and for other businesses that missed out in the previous round.

A second round of Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loans estimated at approximately $284 billion – with expanded eligibility for 501(C)(6) organizations (like your Boerne Chamber of Commerce), which were not eligible for the first round of PPP loans.

New “Boerne Strong” Campaign Touts Benefits of Buying Locally

The City of Boerne, The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, Boerne’s Retail & Restaurant Owners Association (R&ROA) and The Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation are working together to attract visitors and promote shopping local through its new “Boerne Strong” campaign.

The new initiative aims to highlight and draw visitors to Boerne’s independent businesses throughout the city, including the Hill Country Mile, Boerne’s historic and thriving downtown area that features a walkable strip of independently owned boutiques, restaurants, galleries, hotels and breweries.

Seven Social Steps for Success

Help our members and local businesses by following the Seven Social Steps for Success.

Seven simple ways to accomplish this is using social media and online services each day of the week by donating to a non-profit organization, ordering food from our local restaurants and using their takeout and curbside services, support a local business by leaving them a positive review or recommendation on Facebook, Yelp or Google, lending a helping hand to someone, following one of your favorite local businesses on social media, and share a post to show some extra love, shopping local online and use Sunday to relax and reflect and stream a religious service online.
