When was the last time you felt the wind of a hawk’s wing as it passed over your head?
Or witnessed the powerful silent beauty of a Great Horned Owl as it stares through huge yellow eyes at you? Have you ever seen a Golden Eagle from only a few feet away?
The Boerne Convention and Visitors Bureau and Last Chance Forever, The Bird of Prey Conservancy are partnering together to bring Boerne an extraordinary, one of a kind experience.
Last Chance Forever is a non profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned hawks, falcons, eagles, owls and vultures. In addition to caring for the birds each day, Last Chance Forever presents educational and entertaining demonstrations to children, civic organizations, tour groups, and interested individuals.
Last Chance Forever has choreographed a very special birds of prey demonstration, including a flying demonstration, on the lawn of The Boerne Visitors Center, located in the beautiful Historic Kingsbury House. Under the lush canopy of two hundred year old live oaks on Saturdays in June is where you can have a rare up close encounter with these magnificent aerial sky hunters, as they silently fly from branch to branch. You will meet an exciting naturalist offering an educational experience with the glorious hawks, owls, eagles and such. Be sure to bring your cameras for a rare photographic opportunity!
