How to Get or Grow a Website

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce begins its third year of Lunchbox Lessons with a class for those interested in starting a website or growing the one that is underway. The class will be held from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the Boerne Convention & Community Center on the corner of Plant and Adler on February 22, 2010. Lunch is provided.

In this lagging economy, small businesses must do everything they can to promote their business to customers and potential customers. A website, for most businesses, is a necessity rather than a luxury. Yet many local businesses do not have a website, or the one they have doesn’t attract customers like it could.

If you’ve been putting off building a company website, or growing the one you have, we can sympathize. There are a myriad of options available today and, combined with daunting design and technical issues, the financial implications can be overwhelming. It is like the web designers are speaking another language. You are a small business owner - how can you ever come out a winner in this technological maze.

Well, you can. Let us help you break website mysteries down into terms we can all relate to and come up with a plan that works. Not everyone needs IBM’s website. At this Lunchbox Lesson we’re going to discuss a website that meets your business needs and budget.

First, we’ll talk about the first steps you’ll want to take to begin planning for a website. Then, we’ll discuss why the website is so important for your business and manage your expectations and concerns. Finally, we’ll talk about generating a successful outcome, whether you are updating an older website or building a new one.

Joseph Conklin, owner of Opportunity Stream, Inc. has for over 20 years helped open the door to the world of websites for beginner and advanced clients and helps remove the fear and confusion of web technology for business owners. He will share his “Web Client Guide for the Business Owner” with all attendees.

You can sign up online or give us a call at 830-249-8000. Members pay $15 for the lesson and lunch is included. Admission for the general public is $20, including lunch. Don’t wait to reserve your spot. We expect seating for this class to sell out early.
